How do I make an appointment at the Bluegrass Care Clinic?

Contact the Bluegrass Care Clinic between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling 800-333-8874 or 859-323-5544 - Menu Option 1.

 

When should I seek medical care? 

  • Cough plus any of the following symptoms: fever, trouble breathing, or bloody sputum
  • Headache plus any of the following symptoms: numbness/weakness, fever, stiff neck, or trouble thinking
  • Rash plus any of the following symptoms: fever, muscle or joint aches, or severe diarrhea.

If you are in need of immediate care, please go directly to the nearest Hospital Emergency Department.  The Bluegrass Care Clinic does not offer walk-in medical appointments. 

 

How do I get care when the clinic is closed? 

Call (859) 323-5544. A physician is on call after hours and on weekends in case of medical emergency. By calling this number, you will be able to page him or her and your call will be returned.

Will the clinic contact my family or employer?

 No.  The only time family members might be contacted is if there is an emergency and they are listed as emergency contacts.

 

How can I get to the clinic if I don’t have transportation?

 The HIV Care Coordinators work with our patients in identifying transportation resources to help them keep their medical appointments:

  • Many Medicaid recipients are able to receive transportation through regional Medicaid transportation companies. 
  • The Red Cross Wheels program provides transportation for disabled patients who are unable to ride Lexington city buses.
  • HIV Care Coordinators can provide bus vouchers and gas cards to eligible patients once they come to their appointment.  This helps to offset the cost of transportation to and from the appointment.
