Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine

The UK College of Medicine Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is served by 22 faculty and 27 advanced practice providers (APPs) who are proud to support fellowship programs in pulmonary-critical care medicine, critical care medicine, cardiology-critical care medicine, nephrology-critical care medicine, palliative-critical care medicine, and interventional pulmonary medicine: together a total of 19 fellows.

The division provides inpatient care for all 44 medical intensive care unit (ICU) beds at UK Chandler Hospital and provides pulmonary consultative services for inpatients admitted to UK Chandler Hospital and UK Good Samaritan Hospital.

Our faculty and staff are committed to providing excellence in patient care through our direct contact with patients, through our teaching programs, and with basic science and clinical research. The division also provides clinical care in the ambulatory setting for all pulmonary diagnoses, including specialty clinics for interstitial lung disease (ILD), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pulmonary hypertension, lung cancer, and sleep medicine. The division's research activities are focused on respiratory muscle weakness, asthma, ILD, and ICU outcomes.

The central tenets of our research and educational programs are to improve the lives of our patients and to discover new ways to best deliver the care most important to them.
