We offer two residency programs in internal medicine; Categorical Internal Medicine and Primary Care Internal Medicine.
Categorical match number: 1848140C0
Primary care match number: 1848140M0
We have 18 Categorical and 6 Primary Care PGY 1 positions. All positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
All applications are through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Candidates are invited for interviews based on their application, including the Medical School Performance Evaluation, personal statement, medical school transcript, USMLE scores, and letters of recommendation (three are required).
Additional Program Requirements
While we do not have a minimum USMLE score, most of our ranked applicants score above the mean for USMLE Step 1 and 2, with a Step 1 program mean of 231.
USMLE is preferred to COMLEX, although we do consider both. Our COMLEX Level 1 program mean is 660.
For International Medical Graduates -- You must be ECFMG certified by June 30th of the year you plan to start residency. We consider applicants who are less than 2 years out from medical school graduation or those who have been actively practicing clinical medicine.
UK only sponsors J-1 Visas, and the Office of Graduate Medical Education (not the Department of Medicine) makes all resident-related Visa decisions.
