About Us

The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is the sub-specialty of internal medicine that focuses on diseases and disorders of the respiratory system. Division physicians are certified in Internal Medicine, and Pulmonary and Critical Care upon completion of three years of residency in internal medicine and three years in a pulmonary/critical care fellowship program.

At UK, in addition to holding the various pulmonary clinics, pulmonary physicians and nurse practitioners manage the treatment of critically ill patients in the medical intensive care unit with a wide variety of illnesses. With consultation from other sub-specialties of internal medicine, they are able to provide effective multidisciplinary care.
